Job Description

Director of Clinical Operations

Open Door Health Services is seeking a experienced and visionary Director of Clinical Operations to oversee administrative and clinical operations across multiple care sites. This leadership role is integral in aligning clinical delivery with our mission to improve the quality of life for others while advancing operational efficiency and employee engagement.
What Youll Do:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for clinical operations and staff.
  • Coach and support Practice Managers and clinical teams to ensure day-to-day operations run efficiently with clear expectations problem-solving support and leadership presence.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer to enhance provider efficiency and reduce clinician burnout.
  • Lead implementation of operational improvements to increase patient experience employee engagement and control costs.
  • Work closely with Practice Managers Clinical Leadership and Patient Access teams to optimize scheduling performance metrics and staffing models.
  • Ensure clinical compliance with ISDH OSHA and CLIA regulations.
  • Champion employee engagement and ensure succession planning in key departments.
  • Support community outreach through events and partnerships.
  • Travel regularly to all Open Door Health Services Locations to provide onsite support.
About You:
  • Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams with strong operational insight.
  • Skilled in quality improvement root cause analysis and healthcare reporting metrics such as HEDIS UDS and PCMH.
  • Adept in clinical workflow design and regulatory compliance.
  • Effective communicator who builds trust and drives cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelors degree in a clinical field
  • Preferred: Masters in healthcare or business-related field Indiana RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a mid-to-senior administrative position with direct staff supervision
  • FQHC and grant-funded program experience preferred
  • Must be able to travel to all of Open Doors locations including: Muncie Anderson and Hartford City
Key Accountabilities:
  • Operational Leadership:
    • Directs clinical operations across all sites ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
    • Assists in the development of clinical procedures staffing models and long-term operational goals.
  • Team Support & Development:
    • Provides hands-on coaching and development for Practice Managers and clinical supervisors. Sets clear expectations identifies areas for growth and ensures staff have the tools and support needed for success.
    • Supervises clinical support teams ensuring training orientation and competency assessments are current and effective.
  • Quality & Performance Improvement:
    • Partners with Clinical Leadership Team to drive performance on key metrics and implements process improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Maintains compliance with all relevant regulations (ISDH OSHA CLIA) and ensures proper equipment acquisition and maintenance.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Represents the organization through community involvement and supports coordination of outreach services.
