The schedule for this position is 4 - 7 PM for 2 weeknights per week plus alternating Saturdays from 9 AM - 12 PM. This position will work an average of 8 - 15 hours per week.
GENERAL NATURE OF WORK:This position performs semi-skilled work overseeing the Beavercreek Senior Center and Lofino Plaza facilities during business hours for the Parks Recreation and Culture Division. An employee in this class is responsible for a variety of services and amenities specific to the senior population. The Senior Center Assistant develops relationships and relies on interpersonal skills combined with detailed knowledge of the operation and the facility. Duties are performed under the direction of the Senior Center Supervisor.
EQUIPMENT & JOB LOCATION: This position requires general knowledge of office recreation and kitchen equipment including personal computer telephone general office equipment transportation vehicles commercial stove commercial dishwasher coffee maker public address system and exercise equipment. The primary work site is the Beavercreek Senior Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

- Oversees the daily activities of the Beavercreek Senior Center during business hours.
- Serves as a resource for all Senior Center visitors and provides tours.
- Answers incoming telephone calls and directs them to the appropriate personnel; answers questions and provides information; greets and checks in members.
- Responds to visitor needs maintenance concerns and other customer service issues.
- Enforces building policies.
- Ensures building security with the assistance of the Beavercreek Police Department.
- Performs room arrangements for events classes and programs.
- Provides handouts and information registers individuals provides receipts issues memberships directs visitors to appropriate personnel and takes transportation requests.
- Serves as liaison between Senior Center visitors maintenance needs custodial needs and the Senior Center Supervisor.
- Responds to unusual incidents injuries damaged property or emergencies and requests assistance when needed.
- Maintains appearance of the Senior Center by enforcing food and drink policies calling custodian when necessary or taking care of cleaning themselves reporting problem areas clearing rooms to facilitate cleaning as necessary.
- Opens the Senior Center as scheduled and closes and secures the facility at end of day.
- Follows guidelines in the Senior Center Operations Manual.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or the equivalent supplemented by some experience in recreation or facility supervision and some experience or training in customer service which provides the desired knowledge skills and abilities.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must maintain a valid Ohio Drivers License.
- Ability to work other than normal hours and to work various shifts as necessary.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and maintain a high energy level while working long shifts.
- Completion of or the ability to complete an Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course.
