Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

  • The EMGL Emerging Markets Group Lead is a commercial leader accountable for the category strategic vision for Emerging Markets inclusive of short-term performance (inline portfolio new launches strategic partnerships) and mid-term to long-term growth (market development/launch readiness for pipeline assets and EM-specific launches pipeline commercial assessments within the frame of Global vision) and definition and execution of GTM. Provides headroom analysis and investment options on where to play how to win for P&L owners to make the final call
  • The Primary Care EMGL is accountable for tailoring the global category vision for Vaccines and Internal Medicine to Emerging Markets realities; for ensuring strategic guidance planning and execution for Growth knots and inline knots defining customer and patient engagement strategy for EM Partnering with International Commercial Office and Global Franchise Teams: leverages Emerging Markets scale to execute locally and influence globally implementing where to play and how to win model.
  • Provide strategic counsel to EM President EMCO CCO and Cluster Presidents on resource allocation/trade-offs growth opportunities and risks
  • Provides direct strategic counsel and support to Country Presidents of top six markets to support cross-portfolio resource trade-offs to ensure focus on mid/long term portfolio priorities
  • Builds IM and Vaccines strategies and portfolio management plans ensures execution of commercial strategy/tactics to achieve target KPIs that maximize portfolio and drive growth
  • Systematically identifies evaluates recommends funding and executes incremental growth opportunities fostering the cross-category perspective to leverage the EM scale
  • Develops categories specific capabilities in EM such as patient advocacy policy tendering digital multi-channel marketing / customer engagement in collaboration with functional leads.
  • Develops and drives the Group forecast revenue and OpEx of category brands ensuring the realization of revenue and profitability targets across Internal Medicine and Vaccines.
  • Ensures team provides healthy tension to pressure test business opportunities and risks at regional and country level Drives engagement with external stakeholders as needed e.g. regional forums regional KOLs

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic guidance for IM and Vaccines in EM:

  • Leads commercial strategies for Internal Medicine and Vaccines to address EMs unique needs and challenges. Provides strategic direction for portfolio lifecycle management (from launch to LOE/post-LOE) and resource allocation.
  • OP strategic guidance: revenues resources trade-offs risk & opportunities LRF
  • Forecast group performance in the regions and uplifted countries in EM and track progress in partnership with country and regional leadership. Constructively challenges country and regional forecasts and tactical plans to meet targets.
  • Accountable of product launches across EM (drive product strategies development forecast revenues and OpEx drive launch preparation and readiness across the regions). Assesses the market potential of new brands in order to accelerate registry / launch processes for the region.
  • Provides Emerging Market expertise in both categories to support go to market transformation shaping the environment affordability plans and pricing strategy
  • Specifically for Vaccines leads the Life Course Vaccination strategy in EM to map gaps in vaccination for top 6 markets to design strategies and drive execution together with country teams to close these gaps.

Supports and drives growth

  • Proactively identify organic or inorganic growth opportunities and optimal resource allocation
  • Bring business development and/or business alliances opportunities for discussion with relevant Global groups to foster EM growth

Internal and External Ambassador

  • Represent EM and drive EM focus in various Global teams (Global Franchise LT working groups)
  • Leads initiatives to solve for EM business opportunities and challenges on topics related to manufacturing/inventory allocation IP regulatory pricing legal political access and affordability tender and contracting.
  • Engages external stakeholders. Represent PFE as the TA expert in forums with senior external parties (e.g. governments NGOs commercial bodies other third parties)
  • Creates innovative solutions to expand the patient base in Emerging Markets

Delivery and execution

  • Accountable for the TA performance (shared P&L accountability)
  • Ensures excellence in execution of group strategies and tactics across the emerging markets region. Leverage synergies and drive standardization across regions.
  • Escalates needs for budget re-allocations / incremental investments requests to the EM Chief Commercial Officer. Drives investment in brands and projects that have highest ROI
  • Identify and remove obstacles in order to get things done / decisions made faster
  • Product availability - Partnership with Global and PGS to unlock and accelerate products opportunity for EM
  • Enables the team to design and implement a tailored integrated multichannel category strategy across brands with customer centricity to support our go to market model.
  • Conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs Pfizer Values & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP) environmental guidelines as appropriate etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree
  • 15 years of Marketing Experience
  • Demonstrated successful track record in managing virtual teams and matrix Broad knowledge and experience of the relevant healthcare and pharmaceutical environment Commercial/portfolio management experience including accountability for revenues/operating expenses (P&L) asset allocation value and cost driver decisions.
  • Strong People management and leadership experience
  • Senior Level executive presence and emotional intelligence to negotiate represent EM in different internal and external forums

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master Degree
  • Country Operations Experience Country Manager Cluster Lead BU Head or P&L accountability equivalent role
  • Experience in Vaccines preferred
  • Experience in EM or a least one of the regions (Asia MERA or LATAM) preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $256100.00 to $426800.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
