Key Responsibilities
- Maintain small fleet of service vehicles
- Analyze diagnose adjust and repair a variety of gasoline engines and auxiliary equipment
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair maintain and upgrade
- Operate current diagnostic equipment such as scanners digital meters tire balancers etc.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids lubricating parts etc.) aiming to ensure vehicle functionality and longevity
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues
- Diagnose vehicles based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by drivers
- Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness
- Provide accurate estimates (cost time effort) for a repair or maintenance job
- Contains costs by using warranty: evaluating service and parts options
- Keep logs on work and issues
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
Critical Qualifications
- Must hold a 310S Automotive Service Technician licence
- Having a 310T or equivalency is an asset
- Licenced Auto Mechanic registered with the Ontario College of Trades
- Must have own tools specialty tools provided
- Working knowledge of the use and operation of service equipment
- Good knowledge of various Import/Domestic vehicles/trailers
- Computer knowledge to document repairs
- Able to perform service calls
- Able to lift up to 70lbs
- High school diploma
- Valid drivers license is required
- Class D Drivers License an asset
- Able to work on diesel engines an asset
