LPN/RN 1:1 Nurse: 260 days 7 hours per day 5 days per to: Lead Nurse Qualifications: Graduate of a Nursing Program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing current license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Massachusetts. A strong commitment to the goals mission and philosophy of the organization. Flexibility to meet identified program and staffing needs. Experience with or willingness to be trained in driving a wheelchair working with students/adults with special to stay calm in an emergency to work independently as well as in groups. Description:Primary responsibilities involve 1:1 nursing care Administers medications and treatments as necessaryMaintains medical equipment and supplies for the 1:1 individualCollaborates with program personnel to create the best learning environment regardless of an individuals health care needsKnowledge of g-tube feeding care and administrationDemonstrates knowledge of and the ability to administer medications appropriately in keeping with program policy on administration of health and safety hazards in the environment and advises Supervisor and or Manager Provide transportation in Valley Collaborative in team meetings vocational planning meetings and advocacy team meetings as individuals with daily living activities e.g.: lunch bus load personal care toiletingParticipate in staff meetings and in-service training as requested. All other duties as assigned by the Manager or Lead Demands:Constant standing or walking. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Bends reaches lifts carries twists pushes pulls and handles equipment when performing duties. Able to reach and operate equipment and systems safely and effectively.
