The Purchasing Agent will provide support to vendors Dunhill construction and fellow purchasing team members as those teams work together to manage the working relationships between all parties. This individual should demonstrate a strong analytical ability and aptitude for collecting analyzing and interpreting data in residential construction.
Tasks
- Obtain material budgets from vendors verify accuracy and maintain budgets for new communities new plan releases plan revisions and community specification changes.
- Provides feedback to Purchasing team on research findings and action steps for addressing outstanding/unpaid POs
- Creating job start purchase orders and variance purchase orders for residential construction
- Processes extra purchase orders (EPOs) per requests
- Work closely with the construction team to ensure that trade and material needs are being meet
- Assists in maintaining master trade partnerslist
- Work as a liaison between construction and the trades
- Confirm pre delivery Invoice to PO for accuracy
- Assists with quarterly rebate tracking
- Internal and External stakeholders informed of any material delays or problems
- Data Entry into BRIX
- Research and bidding new trade partners
- Create and maintain measured options in BRIX
- Assist in maintaining community specifications
- Partner with construction team in identifying opportunities to improve takeoffs and budgets
- Assist with monthly change analysis by tracking and reporting month to month takeoff adjustments and labor and material price changes.
- Supports Purchasing Managers
- Other duties as assigned
Abilities
- Clear understanding homebuilding purchasing policies processes and procedures
- High degree of professionalism
Skills and Abilities
- Extremely well organized able to multi-task and prioritize
- Attention to detail and persistence in follow-up
- Excellent communicator (oral and written)
- Proficient in MS/Office software (Word Excel Outlook etc) required.
- Hyphen BRIX/BuildPro experience preferred
Education & Experience- High school Diplomaor equivalent
- Bachelor degree Preferred with concentration in Construction Management Business Finance or other relatedfields.
- Experience in purchasing: Homebuilding required
