The Junior Project Accountant position utilizes knowledge of accounting principles related to classifying recording and summarizing data and making computations to compile and keep financial records.
Responsibilities
Setup new projects and billing terms in the accounting system per contract and information provided by Project Manager.
Review and load project budgets into accounting system
Ensure all projects have fully executed contracts
Assist with preparation of monthly invoices per contract and review documentation to ensure that invoicing is accurate appropriate complies with contract terms and meets Clients expectations
Include any additional reports or templates required by the client with monthly invoices
Track preliminary notices conditional waivers certificates of insurance etc.
Perform project analysis and prepare reports upon request
Monitor projects for contract compliance (i.e. change orders certified payroll etc.)
Follow-up with clients regarding collections
Assist in set-up of subcontractors billing applications in accounting system
Ensure all costs incurred are reflected accurately and in a timely fashion on the project
Assists with resale certificates and sales and use tax
Special projects and other duties as assigned
Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the project cost or corporate accounting field required
Experience in engineering or construction industry preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office products especially Excel
Knowledge of BI tools
Advanced analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Process-oriented customer service-driven problem solver self-starter team player.
