What Does a Medical Coordinator Do at PDI

As the Medical Coordinator youll support the medical and administrative nursing needs of our Region 2 locations in Maury Hickman Giles and Marshall Counties.


Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with occasional after-hours and weekend work as needed.


Responsibilities as a Medical Coordinator:

  • Maintain and update medical records MARs and documentation in line with DDA standards
  • Coordinate and schedule all medical dental and specialist appointments
  • Communicate with pharmacies providers and staff regarding medical orders and updates
  • Track and support nursing coverage and schedules including on-call rotation as needed
  • Assist DON with training materials audits and compliance
  • Monitor and maintain medical supplies and medication documentation
  • Provide occasional direct care support in residential settings as needed

Requirements

To be considered for the Medical Coordinator position at PDI applicants must meet the following requirements:


Licensure & Education:

  • Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (Must be issued in Tennessee or a compact state recognized by Tennessee)
  • Proof of education and license required

Special Requirements:

  • Valid Tennessee Kentucky or Alabama drivers license (military exemptions available)
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required
  • Negative Drug test required
  • Satisfactory driving record required
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Availability to attend and successfully pass all required DDA and PDI training courses required
  • PHS and Therap experience preferred
