AUTOMATION CONTROLS ENGINEER

The Automation team is responsible for the planning designing programming testing start up and commissioning of automation systems throughout our manufacturing facilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and design electro-mechanical automation systems
- Create and maintain schematics and drawings for automation systems
- Assist in developing robotics and automation roadmap for manufacturing facilities
- Responsible for overseeing scope cost and schedule of automation projects - including system designs bills of materials and specifications
- Select component vendors for designed systems
- Research and stay current with best available technologies related to automation
- Programming of HMIs PLCs robots and vision systems
- Testing and debugging of systems prior to placing in production
- Provide technical support as required to ensure automation systems are operating and optimized including troubleshooting and operator training
- Assist plant personnel in development and implementation of efficiency projects
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years experience in factory automation designing and implementing industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills. 3D / CAD experience - preferably SolidWorks
- Experience developing electrical and mechanical schematics and BOMS
- Able to translate automation conceptual designs into functional systems
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- CREATIVE and willing to experiment
- Positive can do attitude.
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- B.S. or associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering/technology or related field
- Experience Fanuc and Universal robots and vision systems

This is a full time position in the competitive and challenging metal manufacturing field. The pay range/rate of pay for this position may vary depending on a number of factors including but not limited to the position offered location education training and/or experience.
