Custodian, Days

• Work according to standard procedures and buildings operational schedule.

• Clean rooms hallways restrooms lunch areas locker rooms chemical room offices hand wash stations and windows.

• Sweep remove debris mop floors clean spills and clean floors throughout the facility.

• Clean surfaces tables and furniture.

• Support audit activities by performing supplemental cleaning tasks.

• Maintain accurate logs and records of regular cleaning schedule.

• Use proper signage to indicate wet flooring or other potentially hazardous situations.

• Regularly empty trash and recycling.

• Replenish supplies in washrooms such as hand soap paper towels and toilet paper.

• Properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per standards.

• Work safely and report hazards to shift supervisor.

• Manage inventory levels of sanitation safety GMP and cleaning items.

• Uphold VDF Quality and Safety policies.

JOB EXPERIENCE:

• No experience ; 3-6 months of previous janitorial experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Strong knowledge of sanitation and janitorial concepts and techniques

• Maintain a positive attitude and and a strong sense of responsibility

• Developed listening verbal and written communication skills

• Exceptional organizational and detail skills

• Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

• Must be a problem-solver who uses good judgement

• Good communication skills both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently or in a team environment

• Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

EDUCATION:

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Standing walking using hands and arms to feel and reach.

• Ability to walk up and down stairs and ramps.

• Ability to climb ladders.

• Routinely bending stooping and kneeling.

• Regularly pushing or pulling sizeable equipment from a standing position.

• Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

• Use of personal protective equipment including respirators hearing protection eye protection and head protection.

• Must be able to lift to 40 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to work in a dusty cold hot humid wet loud or outdoor work environment depending on the assigned work area.

• Primarily works in a production environment with minimal administrative duties.
