HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT:
50% Design Process & Communication
- Support facilitation for all aspects of design: from initial concept to final development of product
- Participate in all aspects of daily follow up with internal business partner i.e. email communication and meetings
- Managing/Filing Design Samples and Market Samples; keeping racks organized by program delivery and size range
- Learn the creative process as well as observing the design leaders in the day-to-day workings
- Prepare and update linesheets accordingly for multiple team members
- Participate in fit process and update design sketches based on feedback during fittings manage ongoing fit changes
- Build and update color swatch palettes for every delivery as needed for the team(s)
- Regularly communicate progress with cross functional partners keeping them closely in the loop for all design related changes
- Responsible for editing all product details throughout design review process that impact final execution of product commercialization
- Train Interns on silhouette sketching in Illustrator line sheet/BOM responsibilities and sample management
30% Product line Development
- Sketch technical drawings in illustrator communicate design intent and update silo matrix accordingly with direction from supervisor
- Fill silhouettes with prints/art in Illustrator working line sheet update print-outs accordingly for presentation meetings
- Independently design at least one program or a portion of a program with Supervisors mentorship
20% Creative Concept
- Research and present design and creative concepts that demonstrate innovative brand-right creative (silos trim & details color print & graphic design direction to supervisor and peers)
- Prepare and request design and proto samples from Product Development & Sourcing team
- Assemble creative and /or trend boards for internal presentations and set up creative PDF files
WED LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Must have:
- Exhibit inquisitiveness excellent communication and analytical skills as well as have basic knowledge of garment construction silhouettes color ways sewing techniques fabrication and trim
- Possess strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Strong time management and creative problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced creative and team oriented environment
- Ability to interpret supervisors direction
- Strong sense of color and aesthetic ability to interpret creative trends for the carters brand
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
- BA or BFA
- 1-2 years of design experience
Preferred skills and experience:
- Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management tool preferred
- 1 years experience working in Apparel Design childrens clothing preferred
