JOB SUMMARY
Ottawa Public Library (OPL) provides accessible innovative library and information services throughout the city of Ottawa that meet the unique needs of diverse communities delivered through facility mobile and virtual channels.
As the Program Development Librarian focusing on food literacy youll be responsible for planning coordinating and implementing in-person hybrid and/or virtual programs workshops series and other activities focused on cooking and food literacy. Your main portfolio will involve overseeing the librarys demonstration kitchen to foster community learning and engagement around food. Also you oversee financial resources related to assigned activities within an approved budget envelope.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in library and/or information sciences from an accredited library school.
6 months of related experience working with community partners and supporting the planning coordination and implementation of public programming.
KNOWLEDGE
- Comprehensive understanding of OPLs mission vision values governance structures and familiarity with corporate policies and procedures of both OPL and City of Ottawa.

- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation including the rights and duties of workers

- May be required to lift programming equipment and other items up to 25lbs
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Language Requirement: Designated Day 1 Ready - immediate requirement for language proficiency: French: oral reading writing required. English: oral reading writing required. Candidates must meet language requirement for position upon hire.
