Join us on our journey: To drive the smart and sustainable energy future we are looking for a Data Science Manager (d/f/m) to oversee strategic tech initiatives from development through to successful execution.
- Location: Munich Germany
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Salary Range: 115.000 - 135.000 competitive VSOP package
- Working Mode: In office setup
- Language Requirement: C1 Level English
Your Responsibilities
- Lead coach and support a growing team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers working on cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to unlock flexibility in the energy system.
- Foster individual growth and team cohesion through mentoring feedback and structured talent development.
- Set a high bar for engineering and scientific quality drive best practices lean development processes and a fail-fast mindset.
- Own the algorithmic direction and ensure alignment with Flexas long-term strategic and technical goals.
- Balance exploration and execution clearly delineate where experimentation is encouraged and where delivery focus is key.
- Actively contribute to building and deploying production-ready ML models from research prototypes to scalable implementations.
- Role-model collaboration across technical teams and shape a high-performance data-driven engineering culture.
Your Profile
- Master or advanced degree in Computer Science Mathematics Physics or a related field
- 6 years experience in Data Science of which at least 2 years in a leadership position
- 5 years of experience in delivering and maintaining machine learning and data science algorithms in production
- Demonstrated success in managing and leading high-performing Data Science teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders as well as collaborating on deep technical concepts with your peers and team
- Track record of successfully delivering technically advanced data products in time
- Ability to technically and scientifically lead applied research projects challenging our current technology choices as well as assisting in bringing the models to production
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
- You enjoy solving problems and sparring ideas in a cross-functional team with our battery engineers software engineers product managers and business developers
- Having led a mix of Data Science and Software Teams
- You have built data science teams before
- Experience in the energy industry
