ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
WENTZVILLE MO

The Role:

Your work will include but not be limited to:

  • Utilizing Microsoft Excel to track and analyze purchase orders and invoices for suppliers.
  • Tracking and analyzing invoices for leased equipment.
  • Processing invoices & credit/debit memos as necessary.
  • Responding to inquiries from suppliers regarding payment status.
  • Resolving outstanding payment/invoicing issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with other departments to effectively maintain A/P.
  • Confirming A/P & A/R balances with intercompany entities at month-end close.
  • Monitoring ledger transactions to ensure that all A/P invoicing has been posted for month-end close.
  • Updating the Assistant Controller of month-end results and potential adjustments
  • Preparing monthly journal entries to the general ledgers for accruals adjustments etc.
  • Ensuring monthly account reconciliations and analyses are completed in a timely manner.
  • Researching and resolving accounting issues with financial and operations departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with quarterly SOX audit requirements.
  • Providing recommendations to the Assistant Controller pertaining to the continuous improvement of accounting controls and other financial and administrative practices and procedures.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field.
  • Moderate skill level in Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables SAP Coupa AS400 Oracle-PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) as they apply to financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements as needed to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting records as needed to make reporting decisions.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and complete financial reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with department heads auditors and supervisor.
