Job Description
Location: Pittsburgh PA 15213
Weekly Pay Rate: $1800 - $1944
Duration: 12-week contract
Shift: Variable shift
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments equipment and supplies for cardiac and vascular surgical cases
- Assist with setting up and maintaining sterile fields in accordance with strict infection control standards
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during cardiac surgical procedures including CABG valve replacements and aortic repairs
- Handle specimens appropriately
- Anticipate surgeon needs to ensure efficient workflow
- Assist in maintaining accurate counts of sponges needles and instruments
- Participate in the cleaning and restocking of the operating room between cases
- Adhere to all hospital policies procedures and regulatory standards
- Collaborate effectively with the cardiovascular surgical team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CVOR or cardiac surgery environment
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical instruments supplies and procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
