Job Summary:

Caterpillar Decatur is currently hiring a Value Chain Engineer in the Wheel Tractor Scraper product group. In this role you will design and implement new processes or updates to existing processes to improve end to end value chain performance. Develop a network value-stream model that depicts current state value chain network and may compare to alternate network configurations (future state).

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing the inbound value add and outbound value chains to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Developing business cases and capability studies recommending improvements to stakeholders.
• Implementing new and enhanced processes and tools and governing changes through collaboration across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment.
• Identifying process inefficiencies and wastes of time money materials and energy.

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in Supply Chain Purchasing MRP systems or CAPP
• Understanding of Caterpillar bill of material (BOM) structure and engineering change management process
• Experience with MAMM system
• Understanding the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and tools
• Project Management Experience

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.
