NA Financial Ops Associate - 1099 Reporting

The NA Financial Ops Associate - 1099 Reporting primarily is responsible for a range of IRS compliance activities including 1099 W9s and backup withholdings.

This position is part of North America Financial Operations as part of the AP Compliance Team with an onsite location in the Richmond (Indiana) Operations Center. This role works under theguidance of the AP Compliance Teams Supervisor in conjunction with the 1099 responsibilities include assisting in data validation and remediation the preparation of annual 1099 statements and providing internal and external stakeholder support.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with 1099 reporting vertical to accomplish tasks against the annual plan including mailings due diligence activities and data management:

  • Complete transactional processing as required for all 1099 reporting processes.
  • Analyze research and correct data.
  • Work 1099-related email boxes and phone lines / voicemails as assigned. Assist with resolution of 1099 W-9 and backup withholding issues.
  • Maintain SOPs related to functional area. Evaluate processes for improvement opportunities.

Additionally complete assigned activities for the overall AP Compliance team:

  • Maintain EFT payment information for businesses for one of Chubbs affiliates.
  • Assist with ad hoc requests and projects related to IRS reporting and / or the AP Compliance team as needed.
  • Ensure all processes comply with Chubbs data security and access policies systems security and access policies and process controls.
  • Develop strong working relationships with team members and business partners.


Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 3 years of applicable work experience in a professional environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication proficiency with demonstrated all-around ability to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels using appropriate tone grammar and word usage.
  • Computer literacy experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) claims systems and / or database systems.
  • Motivation self-starter attitude strong work ethic and the ability to be successful with minimal guidance while also functioning within the broader vibrant team.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience with analytics records management and / or customer service.
