As we continue to grow we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site EHS Building Lead to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Site Environmental Health and Safety Building Lead:

As a Site EHS Building Lead you will be foundational in overseeing environmental programs and ensuring everyone stays safe and healthy in a mission critical environment. You will ensure compliance with all applicable environmental permits and regulations implement OSHA general safety programs perform risk assessments and educate various levels of the organization to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. You will work with different departments to identify hazards and develop mitigation practices.

To perform this job successfully a candidate must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below with or without reasonable accommodation. The requirements listed below represent but are not all-inclusive the required knowledge skill and/or ability to successfully perform the role.

This is a salaried position benefits with a range of $95000 to $115000 per year plus up to 5% bonus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and policies.
  • Perform inspections per requirements of EHS permits plans regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance records such as air emissions logs monthly SPCC inspections OSHA incident logs and chemical inventories.
  • Develop cadenced regulatory reports such as EPCRA Tier II Annual Reports Annual Air Emissions Statements and OSHA reports.
  • Conduct routine assessments to identify potential workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide EHS training to employees at all levels directly or with a 3rd party vendor ensuring understanding of regulations and company procedures.
  • Develop educational materials on EHS procedures and regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and preventative actions and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Manage universal non-hazardous and hazardous waste streams to include performing waste characterizations (as applicable) ordering supplies scheduling disposal shipments and maintaining waste records.
  • Manage all EHS programs and our Zero Waste certification program.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents injuries and corrective actions taken.
  • Stay current on local state and federal EHS regulations ensuring compliance.
  • Develop and update EHS policies and procedures in line with regulatory changes and yearly review cycles.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills.
  • Collaborate with emergency response teams to ensure preparedness.
  • Collaborate with facility vendor and customer management teams to ensure a safe physical working environment for every person on-site.
  • Facilitate safety committees to address concerns and provide updates.
  • Maintain a visible approachable presence with site personnel and promote Stop Work Authority.
  • Other duties as assigned by the EHS Director. This is a startup environment; the team routinely engages outside their formal roles to deliver the best experience as we learn and grow.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years proven experience as an EHS specialist or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Experience with electrical safety and working knowledge of NFPA 70E.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office365.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead independently while collaborating across functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science occupational health and safety environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working in a mission critical environment.
  • Experience with EHS digital platforms.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to occasionally lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both office and field conditions including mechanical equipment space
  • Ability to frequently sit stand walk climb stairs use hands or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be willing to submit to a full criminal background check the results of which may or may not bar employment following applicable state and federal laws.
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen with which results will be interpreted and applied to an employment eligibility determination following applicable state and federal laws.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
