The Solutions Architect Job Overview:
The SolutionsArchitect (SA)positionis a technical leadership role supportingaSalesregion. Architects are typically assigned a technology area to focus on such as Cloud DevOps Security Service Provider. This role is primarily focused on security. The ideal candidate has a solid application security background with an understanding on how cloud and micro-services based architectures influence security deployments.
The SAs primary function is to work collaboratively with Sales teams identifying appropriate F5 solutions to address customers business needs. They provide technical expertise and business understanding across specific or multiple industries. Theychampion our customers requirements and ensure they are understoodacross other teams within F5 such asSales Marketing Product Management and Product Development.
TheSA alsoshares knowledge and educates the solution engineering team internally and externally via whitepapers trainings demos blogs tech-tips presentations etc.
To be effective an SA needs to blend strong business acumen with excellent technical skills and knowledge on both F5 products and the eco-system that we work needs to be an authority in his/her field of expertise and act as a trusted advisor towards our customers.
What youll do
- Work on strategic opportunitieswithin the assigned region/area of specializationand provide architectural guidance and technical expertisefor the entire F5 portfolio. The goal is to listen carefully to the customers requirements and then position the best possible solution within the F5 portfolio addressing those requirements.
- Play the role of an evangelistandthought leaderin the area of technical specialization
- Collaboratewith other solution architects and internal business leadersto share ideas identify common customer pain points and trendsand identify appropriate F5 solutions
- Work closely with our internal productmanagementand servicesteams and provide technical and business understanding for product launches and updates that would be beneficial for our customers
- Provide mentorship as needed to the Solution Engineering community in the organization and make sure they are enabled and equipped to position our solutions correctly
How youll do it:
- Playing the role of an evangelistthought leader mentorin the fieldof security
- Act as a liaison between Sales and Marketing Product Management Product Development
- Working with strategic business opportunities across the EMEA region
What youll bring:
- Advanced knowledge ofsecuritysolutions with specific focus on application security (web application firewall DDOS bot mitigation API security identity & access management anti-fraud client-side security LLM security)
- Knowledge and understanding of private and public cloudsolutions and best security practices in these environments
- Knowledge and understanding of micro-services architectures (Docker Kubernetes) and best security practices in these environments
- Knowledge and understanding of industry standard configuration automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible or Terraform and experience with security automation principles (DevSecOps)
- Deep knowledge of F5 Solutions
- Public speaking skills (events conferences)
- Experience with publishing whitepapers/solution articles blogs tech-tips etc
- Extensive experience making product demonstrations value propositions and technical presentations to technical and business leads
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to adapt your message to your audience
- Architectural problem solving skills
- Self learner and curious in new technologies
- Strong business mindset translating technical features into business values
- 8 years of related industry experience
- Relevantcertifications a plus
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience
