Overview
My client are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their collaborative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in accurately estimating and monitoring costs for construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a variety of stakeholders and contribute to the successful completion of diverse construction and property development projects.
Day-to-day
- Collaborating with project teams to accurately estimate project costs
- Analysing cost data and preparing detailed reports
- Attending site visits and meetings with clients contractors and other stakeholders
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts and tenders
- Contributing to the development of innovative cost-saving strategies
Responsibilities
- Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials time and labour costs for construction projects
- Managing budgets and tracking project expenditures
- Collaborating with architects engineers and contractors to ensure cost-effective project delivery
- Conducting cost analysis and risk assessments
- Preparing tender documents contracts and valuations
- Mentoring junior team members and providing guidance on quantity surveying best practices
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in quantity surveying construction management or related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on construction projects
- Professional accreditation (RICS CIOB etc.) is a plus
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (CostX Bluebeam Excel etc.)
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts and regulations
