Status: .5 FTE
Position Start Date: August 25 2025
Working Calendar: 187 half-days (or reduced number of full days - schedule to be determined)
Salary: $22500.00-$26358.50 DOE

For more information please visit Homeless Liaison provides direct services and support to homeless youth and families residing in the district. They are responsible for advocating for students experiencing homelessness.
Essential Job Duties
- Acts as a liaison between homeless students and families and the district.
- Makes referrals to outside agencies and resources for assistance as needed.
- Completes the Office of Public Instruction McKinney Vento grant application each year.
- Pursues professional growth opportunities on homeless issues.
- Stays current on federal programs and legislation related to homelessness.
- Coordinates with the transportation department regarding bussing or contracted services.
- Works closely with school counselors and building administrators to assure that student needs are met.
- Solicits physical and cash donations to meet community needs.
- Arranges for storage display and distribution of donated items.
- Promotes volunteerism and community involvement in assisting with homeless challenges.
- Administers assistance to homeless students and families.
- Creates ad hoc reports for reporting using Infinite Campus.
- Collects quantitative and qualitative data to complete federal state and/or district reports.
- Maintains accurate financial records for federal grants for Director of Fiscal Services and Assistant Superintendent.
- Coordinates the purchasing process for homeless program.
- Coordinates services for Title 1 services for students qualifying through the M-V clause.
- Arranges the details of McKinney-Vento professional development events.
- Communicates with the public employing discretion and good judgment assisting individuals to appropriate resources to efficiently resolve their concerns.
- Completes computer data entry work using District computer programs.
- Professionally represents administrators as directed in communications with constituents providing accurate information facilitation and problem resolution.
- Creates and manages surveys and data related to the homeless program.
- Maintains Families in Transition section of District web page.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
- Knowledge to perform basic math
- Specific knowledge of administrative and secretarial office methods and procedures.
- Knowledge to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
- Knowledge and ability to perform computer operation/skills.
- Knowledge of the concepts of grammar and punctuation.
- Knowledge of Google: Docs Sheets Slides Forms etc.
- Working knowledge of district operations and school systems.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with grant protocol and state requirements for homeless students/families.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read write and speak English fluently.
- Ability to make sound decisions and recommend changes.
- Ability to read technical information and compose a variety of documents and solve practical problems.
- Ability to schedule a number of events and facilitate group discussions.
- Ability to work efficiently and with a service-oriented attitude under stressful situations with frequent interruption.
- Ability to use proper and professional business telephone etiquette.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and streamline procedures for efficiency.
- Ability to independently prioritize work and adjust time schedules.

- Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records and using pertinent software applications (as required).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in social work or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish speaking ability
- Masters of Social Work (MSW)
- Experience working closely with families in need
Necessary special requirements:
- Montana Drivers license or the ability to obtain license within three months of hire date.
