Job Description Summary
The Chief of Police Operations reports directly to the Vice President for Financial Services and Operations and ensures that all Department of Public Safety operations align with the institutions goals and directives.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Typically a bachelors degree is required; however equivalent training and experience may be considered for exceptional candidates such as those who have attended the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible roles in campus safety and/or law enforcement including substantial leadership and management experience. Certified as a police officer or eligible for a provisional certification. Must have or be willing to obtain certification through the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission ( MPCTC ). Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Police Officer certification for the State of Maryland and comply with all Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission requirements.
