Role Overview
The St. Louis research intern is deeply integrated into the local markets brokerage operations and business. They are responsible for
providing relevant market data to brokers and senior research staff often visualizing it and should be able to concisely interpret key
takeaways. They must be comfortable manipulating and extracting data from internal databases when given complex broker requests. A key
responsibility of the research intern is high-quality data entry and management. The intern is expected to quickly and accurately handle the
input of all lease and sale comp entries that come the teams way (approx. 25-50 per week) not allowing them to sit longer than one week.
The intern also seeks out external industry sources for news about new deals in the pipeline tenants in the market and overarching trends
in the industry. Another key responsibility is the quarterly multifamily market report which the intern will lead updating the stats and any
narrative pieces. The intern is present for broker meetings to provide support to the research team in capturing important insights and further
improving internal databases. They serve as an extension of the Senior Research Analyst helping with any duties they are unable to tackle.
Interns will be assigned varying additional projects according to local needs and capacity.
Principal Responsibilities
Undertake information gathering research and analysis of data to provide relevant advice and information
Develop own professional expertise through on the job training and observation
Update databases to help maintain C&W Research teams high-level data quality
Provide assistance to the business in the execution of their daily tasks
Respond to day-to-day requests providing information and advice and ensuring that issues are properly addressed
Deliver through established processes systems and procedures ensuring work standards and requirements are met
Qualifications
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Real Estate Finance Accounting Economics and/or Marketing.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must have a highly professional presence be a strong relationship builder and value an entrepreneurial environment.
Must be analytical and a creative problem solver.
Must be a self-starter who is reliable and gets things done as efficiently as possible.
Must be great as an individual contributor as well as a team player.
Must have strong PC skills (Microsoft Office) with the ability to use best industry technology to obtain latest market research historical
information and trends.
Microsoft Power BI skills and familiarity with commercial real estate terminology is a plus.
