Kindred Spirits Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a compassionate skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team.
At our Rarebreed clinic you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. About: Kindred Spirits Veterinary Clinic has been named Best Veterinary Clinic in the Bangor Area for 12 years running! Our clinic offers some of the newest technologies including ultrasound DR slit-lamp TonoVet and cold laser. Kindred Spirits sees cats dogs and exotics and offers a wide range of services including wellness care digital radiology internal medicine surgery ophthalmology and telemedicine.
Kindred Spirits Veterinary Clinic is located in Orrington Maine. Theres plenty to do; hiking kayaking lots of outdoor activities and an active music/arts community. The city of Bangor and the International Airport are just minutes away. Bangors historic downtown is full of new shops boutiques and award-winning restaurants. The Bangor Waterfront is now a major regional event center with premier concerts and events. And Bar Harbor Maine home of the world-renowned Acadia National Park is about an hours drive away! Kindred Spirits Veterinary Clinic in Orrington ME
WHAT YOULL DO
Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
Perform physical assessments and record your observations
Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures (sometimes using chin scratches!)
Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
Assist the Veterinarian in medical surgical and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
Pharmacy skills including protocols for filling in-house
Monitors vitals by hand and with equipment
Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs
Communicates within the team proactively advocating for their patients needs

REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required
Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can deal with them even when they are stressed ill or in pain. Dedication to safety for all parties involved
Strong work ethic and track record of being reliable
