Job Duties:
25% Coordination of Psychology Services at PSSC: Responsible for the
oversight of all psychological services including identified basic and
specialized psychological treatment - based programming for individuals
supported. Review revise and develop policies and procedures
regarding psychological services. Participates in the review and
revision of facility policies and procedures related to due process
behavioral management and restraint utilization. Respond to other work
assignments delegated by the PSSC Administrator.
15% Supervision: Supervise all Psychologists and Administrative
Support staff assigned to Psychology Services as well as supervise
development of psychology-related Staff Training curriculum and
clinical work of Psychologists. Complete performance planning and
evaluation for subordinate employees and control their time and
attendance. Direct subordinate supervisors in developing employees
skills. Counsel subordinate supervisors in work procedures problem
areas policies and regulations. Ensure subordinates receive required
training and orientation and are informed of policy and procedure
changes. Ensure subordinate supervisors are trained to supervise
employees. Direct interviews and make recommendations for filling
vacancies.
15% Supervision of Associate To A Psychologist (ATAP) includes
completion and submission of registration application through Louisiana
State Board of Examiners Psychology and providing the completed
application to Human Resources. The Certificate of Registration will be
provided within 30 days of application. If the application for
registration is denied for any reason it is the responsibility of the
Psychologist to notify Human Resources the ATAP no longer qualifies for
the current position. Psychologist will be responsible for notification
to Human Resources of any employees who are no longer certified through
the Louisiana State Board of Examiners Psychology as they no longer
qualify for their position.
15% Serve on Committees: Serve as member of various committees such as
facility Department Head Human Rights Committee Pharmacy and
Therapeutics Committee as well as others as directed by the PSSC
Administrator. Participate in facility performance improvement projects
and program design and implementation projects.
10% Prepare for and Respond to External Oversight: Ensure that
Psychology Services is in compliance with regulatory requirements and
that subordinate staff are trained on regulatory requirements. Develop
responses and action plans to address Title XIX concerns regarding
psychological services. Coordinate services of expert psychological
consultants. Provide consultation of highly technical nature to other
organizations and statewide programs.
5% Develop and Monitor the Peer Review Process in Psychology: Create
peer review requirements and foster a supportive environment in which
Psychologists and Associates to Psychologists (ATAPs) may learn and grow
from one anothers feedback. Assist in recruiting efforts to bring
highly qualified psychology professionals to the State and PSSC.
5% Teaching: Assist in ongoing development of training curriculum for
new employees. Provide ongoing training to Psychologists Associates to
Psychologist and Direct Care staff.
5% Provide Direct Clinical Services: Critique approve and write
psychological evaluations and behavior guidelines (in programs which
employ behavioral guidelines). Administer/review diagnostic tests for
psychological assessment and interpret results. Conduct group
individual family and/or other specialized psychotherapy with
residents. Evaluate and recommend discharge/transition of residents as
a member of and/or as a consultant to individual residents
Interdisciplinary Teams.
5% Responsible for maintaining current valid licensure by Louisiana
State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and provide proof to Human
Resources annually within 30 days of July 31. Performs tasks as
assigned by supervisor within the course and scope of licensure LDH and
PSSC policy state and federal regulations and statutes.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Administrator to support
the Agency and/or the people we serve

This position receives premium pay of $ 2.00 per hour.
This position also receivesLongevity Pay.
Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) will cover the cost of the EPPP Test Prep for the selected candidate. The selected candidate must maintain employment with Pinecrest for 12 months.
This position may be filled by Detail to Special Duty Probation Promotion Demotion or Lateral Transfer.Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
