Description

Performs tests following established protocols and standards for the Quality Assurance Test group. Follows quality test program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards such as AS9100 / ISO 9001/ ISO14001. Test inspect or measure internally manufactured materials or procured products to verify compliance with Click Bond or customer furnished engineering drawings and procedures. Completes documentation associated with test and inspection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use inspection devices (micrometer caliper optical comparator etc.) to determine product compliance with engineering drawings purchase orders and associated aerospace specifications.
  • Uses Tensile Test Salt Spray Manual and Automated Cycle Test Hardness Test and Metallography machinery and applicable fixtures and hardware to determine product compliance with engineering drawings purchase orders and associated aerospace specifications.
  • Maintains quality assurance test objectives comply with corporate policies and goals.
  • Execute tests in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in conveying quality assurance philosophy to personnel in organization.
  • Review data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Suggest new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance test activities.
  • Support RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) activities
  • Report significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance test activities and actions being taken to improve conditions.
  • Produce reports of inspection acceptance or non-conformance and make appropriate computer entries.
  • Assist in training other employees to do the tasks associated with Quality and Quality test.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned. Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Understands of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
  • Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
  • Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively.
  • Able to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings procedures and written information.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
  • Consistently at work and on time.
  • Follows instructions responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments.
  • Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person of an alternate plan.
  • Ability to write and read English

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read analyze and interpret aerospace procedures engineering requirements safety rules and quality assurance manual.
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution determination of test reliability and validity ratio percent and draw and interpret graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully an individual should have basic computer navigation skills as well as experience with MS Word Excel Outlook MAX/MRP inventory software and manufacturing software.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) required and a minimum of 3 years related experience and / or training preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and 3 years related experience and /or training.
  • Pursuit of Certification recognized by a professional organization (i.e. ASQ AWS) is required.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: Two certifications recognized by a professional organization (i.e. ASQ) are required.

  • Regularly required to use hands and finger to handle or feel product for burrs or surface finish.
  • Frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk; sit and stoop bend kneel or crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Close vision color vision and ability to adjust focus occasional microscope work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • If in manufacturing areas may be exposed to adhesives (smells) bright light noise heat cold dust etc.
