The Manager of Staffing and Patient Transport is responsible for overseeing the hospitals staffing operations and patient transport services to ensure efficient safe and timely movement of patients within the facility. This role involves managing staffing schedules coordinating patient transport logistics maintaining compliance with hospital policies and enhancing operational workflow to improve patient experience and departmental productivity.
Responsibilities:
Develop implement and oversee staffing plans for various hospital departments ensuring adequate coverage to meet patient care needs.
Monitor and manage staff schedules including shift assignments overtime and absences to maintain optimal staffing levels.
Ensure compliance with labor laws hospital policies and accreditation standards related to staffing.
Manage the patient transport team including training scheduling and performance management.
Coordinate timely and safe transport of patients between departments such as emergency radiology surgery and inpatient units.
Implement and monitor protocols to ensure patient safety confidentiality and comfort during transport.
Collaborate with clinical and support departments to optimize transport workflows and reduce wait times.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to staffing and patient transport functions.
Analyze workflow identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork communication and continuous improvement.
Minimum of 3 years experience in a related field required.
2 years supervisory experience required.
Education:
Bachelors degree required or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
Skills:
Experience with hospital scheduling software such as One Staff.
Preferred/Desired:
Five years of hospital staffing experience preferred.
3 years management experience preferred.
One year working with healthcare travel agencies preferred.
