Job Summary/Objective: The Network Manager is a key member of the Technology Department responsible for the design management maintenance and security of the schools network infrastructure and hardware. This role provides strategic oversight of network operations and supports the integration of technology into the academic and administrative functions of the school. The Network Manager leads infrastructure projects manages technical support functions and contributes to long-term planning of network infrastructure. Essential Functions: - Manage and execute the design implementation and maintenance of all network infrastructure including all wired and wireless networks firewalls switches routers and servers.
- Administer user accounts and access controls in Active Directory (AD) Entra ID and Google Workspace for Education.
- Maintain and oversee all email services including management of filters and security settings.
- Regularly update and service the network infrastructure and analyze system performance to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Lead or co-lead technology infrastructure projects including planning budgeting and implementation.
- Administer and maintain school devices ensuring they are properly configured and functioning.
- Manage user access to network resources including setting up permissions and security protocols..
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data protection best practices.
- Maintain documentation for network configuration procedures and system inventory.
- Provide secondary support to IT staff for technology-related issues offering guidance and assistance as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Director of Technology on inventory management and hardware procurement.
- Coordinate and execute special projects aimed at improving the schools technology infrastructure.
Required Education and Experience: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network management or a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP DNS DHCP VLANs and Meraki network products
- Proficiency with Microsoft Server Office 365 Intune and Google Workspace for Education.
- Experience with Active Directory / Entra ID.
- Excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives with minimal supervision.
Preferred Education and Experience: - Advanced certifications such as CCNA CompTIA Network or equivalent.
- Experience in K-12 or educational environments.
Required Competencies/Skills/Abilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in TCP/IP DNS and network topology.
- Skilled in Microsoft Server Office 365 Security Intune Windows Google and Apple device management.
- Experienced in managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems using Intune and Jamf.
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
- Capable of functioning well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
