Job Description

Clinical Pharmacist - Home Infusion Pharmacy
Our client an independently-owned infusion pharmacy located in Little Rock is seeking a pharmacist with Infusion / Sterile IV experience for their thriving pharmacy business. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and driven pharmacist with great clinical skills! The individual in this role help support the day-to-day operations customer support reimbursement and growth for the pharmacy. Pharmacist clinical activities include therapy assessment care planning and medication reconciliation as they pertain to individual patients and the appropriate monitoring for effective care and positive patient outcome.
Responsibilities include:
  • Reviews medication orders and evaluates appropriateness and completeness of orders with consideration given to the special needs and behaviors of the specific age group served.
  • Verifies all prescriptions not directly received from the prescriber or physicians agent.
  • Knowledge of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) kinetics IV medications sterile IV admixtures aseptic techniques therapeutic drug levels common laboratory values and advanced pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Provide oversight of the safety; appropriateness and effectiveness of the pharmaceutical care provide to patients (consumers) as it relates to specialty products dispensed.
  • Supervises and when required compounds intravenous and specialty pharmaceuticals in an aseptic fashion according to established State Board of Pharmacy Federal USP sterile guidelines and company policy.
  • Knowledgeable of the proper use and handling of both sterile and hazardous medications. Compounds and handles sterile and hazardous medications in accordance with established guidelines
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state boards of pharmacy statutes and regulations.
  • Ensuring strong & effective business relationships with management sales nursing and patient support services teams.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to excellence through focusing on quality care and/or services.
  • Providing clinical services such as drug information drug therapy monitoring prevention of drug interactions patient education medication reconciliation and staff in-services.
Requirements:
  • Pharm D degree or Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy
  • Licensed to practice as a pharmacist in AR active AR license in good standing
  • 2 years experience in infusion pharmacy operations preferred
  • IV/Sterile infusion experience desired
