Description
Heartland Cardiology is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Heartland Cardiology in Wichita KS.No Experience needed as we are willing to train the right applicant.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Answer phones greet patients and visitors coordinate clinic appointments and visits and provide a variety of clinical and clerical services.
- Perform patient care activities according to established guidelines under the direction of the Clinical Operations Manager.
- Assist with scheduling ofTeleMedorDoxymeappointments and provide patient instruction.
- Assist Clinic physician and/or physicians staff with any procedures (i.e. vital signs weight positioning disrobing etc.).
- Review current medications with patient and document in computer.
- Communicate any physician delays to patient andmonitorpatient until physician enters exam room.
- Perform EKG on patients as ordered by physician.
- Obtain and document patient information as per clinic physicians protocol.
- Know physician schedules to organize appointments and issue appropriate memos regarding physician visits.
- Keep clinic staff informed of pertinent informationregardingpatients.
- Make referrals for providers asrequested with help and guidance from the providers nurse. Provide proper documentation of referrals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned orrequested.
Requirements:
- High school diplomaor equivalent.
- MedicalAssistant certification.
- One - two years in a healthcare setting required phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
- BLS certification within one month of hire
