Job Description

First-Line Product and Service Quality Manager

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a First-Line Product and Service Quality Manager (Level K) to support the Fabrication Core Quality team in Auburn Washington.

The Fabrication Core Quality team is seeking a proficient and reliable manager for a pivotal role within our organization. The ideal candidate will excel in fostering collaboration across diverse groups and possess strong transformational leadership skills. This position will lead the Core Quality team driving innovation within the Boeing Production System. The responsibilities will include overseeing staffing plans and financial budgets for Fabrication Quality supporting Fabrication Manufacturing Business Units (MBU) and implementing efficient process solutions. Collaborating closely with Fabrication leadership and cross-functional teams this position will ensure alignment with staffing and budget objectives. Additionally this position will play a key role in enhancing operational effectiveness across all Functions in Fabrication.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Quality Headcount and staffing budget for all 21 Fabrication business units to ensure optimal workforce alignment with business needs

  • Engage with senior leadership HR and MBU leaders to ensure alignment of workforce planning with business objectives

  • Communicate the importance of skills management and workforce planning across all levels of the organization

  • Develop standard processes to streamline the collection and management of the staffing data need to support a multitude of planning activities.

  • Serve as the Skill Team captain for all Quality Functions across Fabrication

  • Create lead and oversee workforce development

  • Manage the functional staffing plan driving commonality of processes tools and work statement across skills

  • Manage and forecast the finance budget for Fabrication Quality

  • Work directly with the Fabrication Quality Director to provide visibility to staffing plan and share that plan with key stakeholders

  • Lead additional improvement projects that are needed to improve the overall day to day management of the Quality roles in Fabrication

  • Oversee and implement strategies to enhance capabilities of the workforce

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workforce planning and skills management.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and improve workforce strategies.

  • Collaborate with leadership across Fabrication and Programs to ensure required resources are available to support emergent requests

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

  • 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint)

  • 3 years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans schedules or solutions

  • Experience tracking and reporting financial plans (risks staffing/headcount etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years of experience working with quality and/or manufacturing data systems

  • 3 years of experience with root cause corrective analysis

  • 3 years of experience leading job family level skill teams
