  • Part-time 0.6 FTE fixed term (3-year contract)
  • Salary at USCD 1 classification commencing at $67070.37 12% superannuation
  • Based on the city fringe less than 4 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD

About the role

This is a key role in operating the centre on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all safety and hygiene criteria are met for the water and surrounds and that the operation of plant and equipment meets water testing and treatment stands. The position will maintain and develop relationships with the Centres customers particularly community groups providing excellent customer service.

Reporting to the Operations Coordinator the Senior Pool Attendant assists in leading casual staff supervising water space and general operations with a safety-first attitude.

Successful applicants will:

  • work a minimum of 28.8 hours per week
  • be paid for 22.8 hours per week
  • have 6 hours going to TOIL each week for payment over the winter closed period.
  • work over a 7-day roster with a mixture of evening and early morning shifts as per operational requirements. Public Holiday work is also required.

The above hours are a guide as at times these roles may work more during peak season and less during off-peak times. Any additional hours over the minimum contracted hours worked will go to your TOIL bank and will be paid as a lump sum at the contracts end.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • A current Pool Lifeguard Award certification
  • A current Apply First Aid certification
  • A current Department of Human Services Child Related Employment Screening clearance
  • A current Safe Environments for Children and Young People Through their eyes or equivalent recognized certificate
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Swimming Centre operations

It is also desirable to have:

  • The ability to work across multiple areas at the Centre
  • A current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification
  • Group Fitness Certification (Aquarobics Yoga Personal Training)
  • A current Pool Plant Operators certification
