Mount Sinai Services is recruiting for a part time Physician Assistant in the division of Neonatology and Newborn services at NYC Health Hospitals / Queens. The Physician Assistant in Neonatology will perform a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission assessment diagnosis treatment follow-up and outcome evaluation - under the general clinical oversight and administration of the Chief of Pediatrics and directly reports to the Division Chief of Neonatology and Newborn Services at NYC Health Hospitals / Queens. The Physician Assistant will also participate in performance improvement research educational activities.
-Bachelors Degree required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program required.
-Any prior experience in the Nursery/NICU is preferred but not required.
-Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education required.
-Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
-Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
-Current New York State Physician Assistant registration with prescription privileges.
-Must have relevant competence in area of clinical practice assigned; new P.A. graduates must possess current knowledge of the clinical process and its application.
-Evidence of ability to maintain interpersonal relationships communicate appropriately to others and work effectively and efficiently to solve problems.
-Demonstrates the ability to work in a team displaying effective communication and critical thinking.
-Ability to read write understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner.
-Visual physical auditory and cognitive ability to assess patient status.
-Physical and mental health necessary to care for newborns.
-Manual dexterity to perform a variety of clinical procedures relevant to clinical practice area.
-Ability to use basic data entry retrieval systems and the electronic medical record documentation system in a proficient manner.
