Role Overview
As an Area Sales Manager (ASM) you will be responsible for driving sales growth in the grocery segment within the Hyderabad region. This includes managing distributor networks leading a team of Sales Officers and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in the general trade segment.
- Analyze market trends competitor activities and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to maximize sales opportunities.
2. Team Leadership
- Lead motivate and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve sales objectives.
- Provide coaching training and development opportunities to enhance the teams performance.
- Set clear performance targets and provide regular feedback to team members.
3. Distributor & Channel Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers distributors and retailers.
- Understand customer needs and preferences and provide solutions to meet their requirements.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner.
4. Market Expansion
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Explore new market segments and channels for product distribution.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to launch promotional activities and campaigns.
5. Sales Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze sales reports forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities customer interactions and transactions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Marketing or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience (5-7 years) in sales preferably in the Grocery Sales: Sugar Oil Pulses Rice etc sector.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the general trade market in Hyderabad Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team to achieve sales targets.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
