Full Time or Part Time: 2 FTE positions are available and will recruited from either Clinical Lecturer in Primary Care or Paediatric Dentistry (1000008ACLZ25) or Clinical Dental Tutor (106029ACLZ25).
Fixed Term contract up to 12 months

Background
An opportunity has arisen for an individual(s) to join the enthusiastic and forward-looking team of Clinical Dental Tutors and academics at the University of Birmingham teaching undergraduate dental students registered on the BDS degree programme. Teaching on the open plan clinics supervising patient care at the Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry provides an excellent opportunity to shape the future dental professional using modern assessment and feedback technologies. The state-of-the-art Dental Hospital and School opened in 2016 as the first integrated stand-alone facility of its kind in the UK for almost 40 years. Students have access to microscopes and other modern dental equipment to ensure they get the clinical experience they need to enter the profession upon graduation. This role has a focus on teaching in Paediatric Dentistry.

The College of Medicine and Health (CMH) is the largest of the Universitys five Colleges with over 1700 members of staff ensuring teaching and research excellence across a wide range of pre-clinical and clinical disciplines.
The College structure is aligned under three Schools (Principal Academic Units): the School of Medical Sciences the School of Health Sciences and the School of Infection Inflammation and Immunology. Within these three schools sit fifteen different departments including our clinical trials units:

Role Summary
The Department of Dentistry is looking to appoint Clinical Dental Tutor(s) to work under the direction of the Academic Leads for Clinical Practice Specialty Teaching Programme Director and the Head of Department. To undertake clinical teaching and/or laboratory-based simulation teaching and associated administrative duties including progress monitoring report writing and feeding into the Departments reporting processes particularly with a focus on the delivery of teaching in and supervision of students providing Paediatric Dentistry. The demonstration of initiative in contributing actively to the continued development and improvement of the teaching programme is welcomed and expected.
Clinical teaching sessions run through the day (08:30-12:30 morning and 13:00-17:00 afternoon). The post holder will be required to work through the day or on a sessional basis which will be agreed at the time of appointment.
