Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Special Procedures Technologist

SPEC PROC TECH

Full-Time

Special Procedures Technologist candidates will have the following job responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform contrast media administration according to age- and weight-specific guidelines.
  • Set up sterile trays and maintain a sterile field according to hospital protocol.
  • Scrub and assist the interventional physician during interventional procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of drugs including their actions side effects and contraindications for administration.
  • Exhibit the ability to start and maintain IV access. Accurately follow physician orders document exam completion in Meditech scan documents and verify images in PACS.
  • Properly measure and dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Special Procedures Technologist

SPEC PROC TECH

Full-Time

Special Procedures Technologist candidates must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

  • BLS certification required.
  • Completion of ACLS training within six months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients guests physicians and other employees.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Special Procedures Cath Lab EP Lab preferred.
  • Shift Requirements: Monday - Friday (4 10 Hour Shifts) - Rotating Call Coverage - Between 8-10 Call Days per Month)
  • Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
    OR Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R).
    ARRT RCES or RCIS cert required
