ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work collaboratively within school team to supervise design and implement research/evidence based behavior interventions to produce positive behavioral change in students.
- Supervise and facilitate BCBA and Registered Behavioral Technicians.
- Plan and implement training and professional development for Registered Behavioral Technicians.
- Lead teams in developing functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students.
- Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments including functional analyses and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results.
- Design and supervise behavior analytic interventions with the school team.
- Plan and implement professional development on ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis.
- Develop procedures and training materials for staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students and ensuring that program operations are in compliance with established guidelines.
- Conduct workshops training in-service presentations etc. in positive behavioral supports collaborative problem solving behavioral data collection analysis and support planning for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective interventions for students.
- Collaborate with parents the public and mental health community for the purpose of supporting individual student development goals.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with students parents teachers administrators support staff and community members.
- Supervise the work of staff members who implement behavior analytic interventions.
- Seek the consultation of more experienced practitioners when necessary.
- Understand and use a variety ofassistive technologies and programs.
- Participate in personal ongoing professional development including the required hours of continuing education every three years for continued BCBA licensure certification and ESA.
- Maintain student records and confidentiality.
- Meet district state and federal timelines and legal requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of a Masters degree in education psychology or other related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in and educational setting.
- Current Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
- Successfully complete Washington State Patrol background check. Employee is responsible for cost of background check.
- Current or in process of obtaining ESA certification through OSPI.
- Understanding of current State and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to model and lead functional behavioral assessment and behavioral support planning.
- Must have regular consistent attendance.
- Demonstrated ability to support staff in behavioral assessment data collection intervention planning and intervention follow up.
- Effective communication collaboration interpersonal skills and facilitation skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus promoting initiatives and conveying expectations.
- Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for administrators and teachers.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated strength in organization communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines.
- Experience in analyzing data to plan for instruction that supports all students.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team.
- Demonstrated interest and engagement in professional learning and reflection.
- Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally linguistically and racially diverse.
- Physical capability to respond to student in order to maintain a safe and supportive school environment.
- Demonstrated competency with data tracking systems IEP development using computer supports such as Excel Word etc.
