Description
Join the Enterprise Supervision team at Tyler Technologies as a Software Engineer! Were looking for a passionate skilled developer to help design and build scalable event-driven applications using AWS-native services such as API GatewayEventBridge Lambda Step Functions and SQS. In this role youll play a key part in modernizing our solutions and delivering high-quality secure software that empowers our clients and supports mission-critical outcomes
HYBRID WORK POLICY: The candidate must come into the Plano TX office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable high-performance applications using AWS-native event-driven services including API Gateway EventBridge Step Functions Lambda and SQS.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including analysis design coding testing deployment and maintenance.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications resolving bugs and improving performance and security.
- Develop RESTful APIs and ensure smooth integration across internal and external services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with QA Product and DevOps teams in Agile development cycles.
- Support CI/CD automation efforts and infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation or AWS SAM.
- Write clean maintainable code with strong documentation and testing practices.
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience building SaaS or web-based applications.
- Proven experience with AWS particularly in event-driven architecture.
- Proficiency with modern JavaScript HTML/CSS and Web Components (e.g. Lit).
- Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker.
- Strong working knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PHP using frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
- Familiarity with AWS SAM CloudFormation or Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Knowledge of observability tools (e.g. CloudWatch X-Ray) in an AWS ecosystem.
