Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Caerphilly to assist with the appointment of a Refusing & Cleansing Operative on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 12.85- 16.12 per hour
Summary:
The Refuse and Cleansing Operative will provide an effective and efficient waste collection and cleansing service throughout the County Borough. This includes the removal of waste detritus and bulky items from public spaces residential areas parks and highways. The role may involve working on Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) operating various types of equipment and promoting environmental awareness and customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out cleansing operations such as litter picking street sweeping and removal of fly-tipping and detritus.
- Assist the public at Household Waste Recycling Centres by unloading bulky items and ensuring materials are segregated for recycling.
- Operate plant/machinery and undertake daily vehicle and equipment checks reporting defects as needed.
- Perform yardsman duties including forklift operation stock control and PPE issuance.
- Maintain accurate records of activities such as schedules and inspections.
Experience:
- Experience working in a customer-facing or public service role.
- Experience operating machinery vehicles or plant equipment.
Essentials:
- Basic awareness of waste management or cleansing duties.
- Reasonable levels of literacy and numeracy to complete tasks and documentation effectively.
- Able to carry out full range of duties associated with cleansing and waste operations.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Basic DBS
