Hourly rate: 14.07

General Operative

Aberdeen City Council

Salary 14.06 per hour plus commercial vehicle and fuel card

Full time Permanent 42.5hrs per week Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We are looking for a General Operative to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of ten other operatives. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality general repairs planned works and refurbishments to housing properties while delivering best-in-class customer service and meeting all safety quality and cost control standards.

Main duties:

  • Carry out a range of repairs and refurbishment tasks to a high standard.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to tenants and residents.
  • Process all tasks electronically using a handheld device (PDA).
  • Maintain all company-supplied assets in good condition in line with company policies. Report any damages to your supervisor or Manager.
  • Manage materials effectively by using existing stock or collecting required items following the companys purchasing and van stock control procedures.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience working in social housing and council contracts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence

Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
