Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
- Work requires ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and a thorough knowledge of psychiatric nursing and physical assessment skills - acquired through two years of college education in nursing.
- Work requires current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continually throughout tenure in position.
- Work requires a level of knowledge of nursing process and physical assessment - acquired through one to two years inpatient psychiatric nursing including regular practice of physical assessment skills and demonstrated teaching skills.
- Work requires a relatively high level of analytical abilities sufficient to identify nursing care problems arising during a prescribed course of ECT pre-operatively intra-operatively and post-operatively.
- Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients staff other departments and disciplines families and physicians (51-80% of work time).
- Works with severely ill psychiatric patients frequently producing a high level of stress and mental fatigue (51-80% of work time).
- Work requires talking hearing mid-range vision and field of vision.
The pay range for this position is $36.00 minimum to $55.17 maximum.
