Our Commercial Management Office is looking for a Manager Commercial to join the team! You will lead the commercial management and life-cycle maintenance for capital projects undertaken by the CPG.
What will I be doing
- Support the commercial management team throughout the contract lifecycle and ensures there are effective and efficient policies procedures and best practices in place to achieve value for money.
- Support the development and the execution of the overall strategy for commercial management to ensure successful outcomes including interaction with various internal and external stakeholders (Project Team Technical Advisors and Third Parties).
- Provide expertise in contractual interpretation and provide guidance to the alliance in the management of procurement risk change orders timing notifications and dealing with disagreements.
- Effectively deal with significant commercial issues including complex engineering operational and business challenges to ensure the completion of key projects and strategies.
- Provide commercial advice related to procurement and contracting strategy to the technical and delivery lead including best practice and innovate measures.
- Identify emerging problems reports contractual claims and leads the management and resolution of legal and/or commercial disputes involving vendors.
- Monitors commercial performance management through pro-active issue resolution change requests/amendments and standardized internal processes that contribute to achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Identify opportunities for innovation risk mitigation and continuous improvement of commercial and contract management contract administration and risk control.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a bachelors degree in civil engineering Construction Management or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Experience in progressively responsible roles related to the planning design construction and operation of rail and/or transit infrastructure and services and related works including experience managing large complex multi-year transit projects and/or operational contracts.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial management techniques and practices in a large multi project complex construction and infrastructure with P3 projects and/or Progressive models are highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge and proven experience of commercial management and contract administration principles procedures and industry best practices.
- Ability to plan set priorities schedule and manage deliverables for immediate and future needs.
- Skilled in managing complex stakeholder relationships and fostering collaboration in an alliance environment would be an asset.
- Highly developed written communication skills to develop briefs and presentations for executive management with a clear and succinct definition of the issues identifying a priority ranking of issues and providing well-researched and concise answers to anticipated questions; to prepare strategy documents and issue reports.
- Strong verbal communication/consultation skills to facilitate a balance between consultation versus informing of external stakeholders.
- Management and leadership skills to manage departmental staff and lead projects and motivate a team
- A valid drivers license is required to travel to various project locations public meetings etc. (approximately 5%). Must meet and maintain the corporate standard for a good driving record.
