The Minneapolis College Store and Textbook Center is seeking eight (8) temporary part-time Textbook Center Assistant/College Store Assistant positions to provide the following assistance: textbook center in-store. Under general supervision and procedural control assistants provide customer service to Minneapolis College Store and Textbook Center customers on matters relating to e-commerce and in-store sales. Assistants may also assist with shipping and receiving of merchandise for the Store. These positions also provide assistance to Store staff with day to day operations during peak periods. These positions also provide clerical services necessary to perform general office tasks in support of Store operations.
Salary Range
Office Specialist: $20.02 - $23.76 hourly $41802 $49611 annually.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and understand information.
Customer service skills in person on the phone and online to provide effective general and specialized office support with courtesy tact interest in positive problem solving empathy and to organize ideas logically.
Knowledge of math skills sufficient to perform simple math functions to control the change and return of funds.
Knowledge of computer and technology skills sufficient to process online and point of service (POS) orders.
Demonstrate an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency incorporate culturally responsive practices and actively engage in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Physical Requirements
All assistants must have the ability to stand for up to 50% of the day (up to 80% for shipping/receiving clerks) with frequent bending lifting maneuvering of carts and hampers.
All assistants must have the ability to lift/move materials weighing 15 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
Other Requirement
Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
Work Shift
Eight (8) positions with the start dates within August 2025 and the end dates within September 2025. More information below:
Textbook Center Assistant (6 positions):Mondays Fridays 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (roughly 37.5 hours per work week)
College Store Assistant (2 positions):Mondays Thursdays 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (roughly 36 hours per work week)
