This unique apprenticeship programme combines on-the-job training with academic study leading to an (Honours) degree in Public Health and preparing you for a rewarding career as a qualified Public Health Practitioner (PHP) and beyond. As a Level 6 Public Health Practitioner in-work apprentice you will gain valuable experience working alongside qualified professionals in a fast-paced Public Health environment across South Tees. Youll be involved in a variety of tasks and projects gaining a comprehensive understanding of the field whilst study towards a degree in Public Health.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person who will play a key part in supporting a range of work programmes in Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland with a focus on the Best Start in Life portfolio in the Children and Young People team. The role will involve working across a diverse range of Public Health priorities including oral health healthy start scheme healthy weight and infant feeding. Working as part of a small team you must be able to demonstrate good planning and organisation with excellent communication and teamwork skills and a can-do attitude with the ability to work independently and flexibly to meet the needs of Public Health South Tees.
The post holders workplace will be in central Middlesbrough but opportunities may arise to work from other council buildings and occasional working from home (subject to business need).
Please note this is a fixed term role until 30.06.2028.
