About the role
As a Medical Scientist (MeS1) you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality multi-disciplined pathology services within a regional laboratory setting. You will perform a range of routine diagnostic techniques and support accurate timely results that underpin effective clinical decision-making and patient care.
Working under supervision you will also contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of laboratory practices by assisting in the evaluation selection and adoption of new methodologies. This position provides a strong foundation for scientific growth while actively supporting the laboratorys commitment to clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring a strong foundation in scientific practice supported by a relevant degree as outlined in the NPAACs Requirements for Supervision. You will demonstrate initiative precision and a collaborative approach with the ability to follow routine procedures while also identifying and resolving technical issues.
Holds a relevant AQF Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) with a major focus on pathology or recognised associate qualification under NPAAC guidelines.
Demonstrates high-level attention to detail and time management in conducting diagnostic tests within standard laboratory procedures.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication technical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in general pathology laboratory operations including equipment handling software applications and quality compliance.
