Job Duties

Position ensures HSU operates within the guidelines of Federal and State regulatory standards by providing high-level administrative programmatic and project management support. Applies knowledge of VADOC program policies and procedures and professional judgement to perform a variety of administrative responsibilities. Coordinates meetings with HSU Chiefs and fulfills requests and inquiries from various sources. Maintains multiple databases with up to date information and ensures compliance in the management of peer reviews mortality reviews and medical clemency requests. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 April 30 regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of general office practices.

Working knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology.

Working knowledge of legal requirements regarding the release of medical information.

Skill in document interpretation.

Strong interpersonal skills ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to prioritize work.

Extensive knowledge of computer skills including Google Suite and Microsoft Office/365.

Additional Considerations

Experience in a correctional setting.

Experience in a healthcare organization setting.

Experience with record management database and Adobe Pro.
