Job Description

Our Community Rugby League team are looking for an incredible individual to join their team as a League & Club Coordinator.

We need someone with an operational understanding of rugby league not just a passion for the on-field action. To us Rugby League is more than a game. At the QRL youll help unite excite and inspire people through lifelong engagement in Rugby League. Working from community clubs to elite level youll champion this remarkable game and its impact on Queenslanders everywhere.

What youll do on a day-to-day:

As our League & Club Coordinator youll be responsible for building capacity in leagues clubs schools and communities. Youll ensure the efficient operational delivery of Rugby League the creation of a positive environment for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game and growth in participation numbers. Success in this role is being able to:

  • Approach challenges with a solution focus demonstrating timely hands-on problem solving to generate ideas and desired outcomes.
  • Capably and proactively interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders providing valued guidance and support as required
  • Assist in the development of all relevant League and Club plans (e.g. strategic operational facilities) ensuring alignment with QRL and national strategy
  • Support the smooth running of competitions including structure draws game day operations while providing education on new ways of working.
  • Maintain an Operations Manual detailing Local League(s) rules and policies; ensuring compliance with QRL Rules.
  • Produce an annual detailed calendar of events.
  • Actively support volunteer attraction retention and deliver appropriate education for both club and league volunteers.
  • Liaise with relevant Government Departments assist the Leagues and Clubs in identifying grant opportunities and provide support where possible
  • Review and monitor Club Health Checks within required timeframe report to the relevant stakeholders on issues of significance and work collaboratively to action
  • Provide ongoing advice on QRL and Whole of Game policies and advise of any key rule changes as noted by the relevant governing bodies

What youll bring to the role:

  • Experience in an administrative role preferably with a tertiary-level certificate in Administration.
  • Previous knowledge and exposure to managing budgeting processes and governance.
  • Ability to build rapport and foster relationships with a variety of stakeholders with demonstrated strength in influencing outcomes collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a firm but consistent approach and to be authentic in dealings with stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand that your team is part of a (fantastic) wider organisation that requires a collaborative approach to your work and with your stakeholders.
  • An understanding that rugby league operates outside of a typical Monday-Friday 9-5.

ROLE SPECS

This is a permanent full-time position. The salary for this position is $73510 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on the position requirements to ensure gender pay equity in sport. We offer 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week of refresh leave throughout the season as well as flexible working arrangements.
