Job Description:
A Mechanical Head in the Power department of an integrated steel plant is responsible foroverseeing all mechanical maintenance and engineering activities related to the power generation and distribution systems within the plant.This includes ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of equipment like turbines boilers generators and associated auxiliary systems as well as managing a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management:Planning organizing and executing preventative predictive and corrective maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment in the power plant.
- Equipment Reliability:Ensuring the availability and reliability of power generation equipment by implementing best practices in maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Technical Expertise:Providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team resolving complex mechanical issues and optimizing equipment performance.
- Budget Management:Developing and managing the annual maintenance budget for the power plants mechanical systems.
- Safety and Compliance:Ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations environmental standards and company policies.
- Team Leadership:Leading motivating and developing a team of mechanical engineers and technicians fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Project Management:Overseeing mechanical aspects of plant upgrades modifications and capital expenditure projects.
- Vendor Management:Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers for spare parts equipment and maintenance services.
- Performance Monitoring:Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to mechanical equipment reliability maintenance costs and energy consumption.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree:Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:Extensive experience (15-20 years or more) in mechanical maintenance within a power plant or similar industrial setting preferably in an integrated steel plant.
- Technical Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of power plant equipment including turbines boilers generators pumps compressors and associated auxiliary systems.JOB APPLY
