Job Posting Title: Freetown-Lakeville Middle School Assistant Principal grades 6-8Issue# 25-121We are seeking an educator to assist in leading our Middle School beginning August 1 2025. Leadership Competencies and SkillsInstructional Leadership: Sets high expectations for learning outcomes and monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of instructionAccountability: Promotes internal and external responsibility and accountability for student achievement and well-beingEstablishes Directions: Ensures that the Districts vision is clearly articulated shared understood and acted upon by allBuilds Relationships with People: Fosters genuine trusting relationships with students staff families and the community and empowers others to work in the best interest of all studentsDevelops the Organization: Encourages a school culture of change and promotes shared knowledge and shared responsibility for outcomesValues Equity and Inclusion: Understands the richness that differences bring to the school community and promotes equitable access to opportunity and achievement for all studentsInstructional LeadershipFurthers the FLMS mission and vision Assists developing and implements School Improvement PlanShares curriculum instruction and assessment leadership duties in collaboration with the Principal Director of Curriculum & Instruction and Director of Student ServicesAdheres to legal regulations and workplace guidelinesAssists in establishing a system and a schedule that best serve students and enable staff to work effectivelyAssists in the design and facilitation of building-based programming targeting instructional and behavioral approaches for all learnersCurriculum and LearningTakes a co-leadership role in curriculum development and the review and revision processUtilizes results of assessments to inform curriculum development and instructional practice As a part of a team analyzes student data reports significant trends and makes recommendations for instructional growthAssists in planning and execution of professional development activitiesResearches and shares curricular and instructional theories and practices Understands research-based practices in instructionSupervision and Evaluation and Collaboration/CommunicationSupervises and evaluates staff in accordance with the districts Performance Evaluation SystemAssists teachers in classroom management concerns Encourages assists and models for teachers communication with families regarding learning and behaviorActively participates in recruiting interviewing and selecting personnelWorks collaboratively with school personnel to support teaching and learningCommunicates with school community members in both proactive and reactive forms regarding academic and behavioral mattersServes as a resource to community members parents staff and administrators and studentsAttends and engages in meetings as assigned by PrincipalSocial and Civic Expectations/Behavior Supports students and staff in their adherence to Core ValuesEnforces schools student handbookCollaborates on updating policies and procedures/handbook revisionsAddresses student disciplinary occurrences and impediments to learning Utilizes outside services (CRA DCF etc.) when neededPresents social/civic and disciplinary data and its implications to stakeholdersManagement/ School Safety and SecuritySupervises common areas before during and after schoolSupervises daily attendance as well as any other daily function as assigned by the PrincipalAssumes responsibility for student attendance and tardiness Develops reviews revises and rehearses school safety protocols including ALICE training General/ClimateEnhances and perpetuates a culture of acceptance and awareness for all students and staffSupports/Supervises as needed school sponsored activities Carries out the policies and directives of the Freetown Lakeville School Committee and is directly responsible to the Principal for their proper and effective executionPerforms any and all other duties as the Principal and Superintendent may direct that affect the safe educational operation of the buildingRequired Qualifications Massachusetts certification as an Assistant Principal/Principal PK-8 or 5-12 or in the process of obtaining if certified candidates are unavailable Masters degree and minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience (middle school teaching is preferred) previous instructional and/or school supervisory experience preferred Salary & Terms of Employment: As determined by the Superintendent commensurate with Closing Date (Subject to Change/Extension)July 8 2025All candidates are encouraged to contact Mr. Bryan Oliveira () to ask any questions regarding this position and/or the district and to address all information to his -Lakeville Regional School District complies with applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race color national origin age disability religion creed sexual orientation or sex (including gender identity and gender stereotyping).
