Job Summary:
Mason PUD 3 is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Utility Person to join our team. The Utility Person performs hands-on tasks as directed working efficiently and responsibly to avoid unnecessary waste or loss of tools materials time and manpower. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the utility industry while delivering quality service to our customers and community. Candidates must be willing to live within 30 minutes of their assigned headquarters under normal travel conditions or reside within the Districts service territory.
Job Duties
- Perform flagging duties on a regular basis as required by the WA State Department of Transportation.
- Assistance in all facets of utility construction operation and maintenance of district facilities.
- Assistance with maintenance of buildings and grounds.
- Assistance to district operations tree trimming material handling and stores.
- Assistance with equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Assistance with line maintenance/ construction.
- Perform customer service connects disconnects and collection duties.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
Qualifications:
- Washington State Class A commercial drivers license (CDL) and a good driving record.
- Possess or ability to obtain a Valid flagging card upon offer of employment.
- Ability to exercise reasonable common sense and good judgement in the working environment.
- Safely control the flow of traffic in and around the worksite.
- Demonstrated ability to use tools of the trade.
- Willingness to work outdoors and be capable of dealing with inclement weather.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Ability to interact in a courteous and respectful manner with the general public.
